A Bountiful Feast

I'm accepting all non-perishable food items at this time... basically anything that would make up a well rounded holiday meal.   I've provided some ideas below.

As for ham or turkeys, I'd originally wanted to be able to provide turkeys and/or hams to each family, but ran into a problem finding storage for them until distributing.   The first time around, I put fresh ham slices in each food basket the evening that I delivered them.   I'd like to keep up with that idea, so for that I would probably rely on gift cards or donations of canned hams.

In addition:  I'd like to ask you -- if you're donating things from your own cupboard, please check the expiration dates on everything you're getting together. In the past, though appreciative of EVERYTHING you can donate, we received several items that were expired -- and unfortunately there was so much that we had to dispose of.   Along with a lot of other dry goods and food items, canned goods can expire also..  I, myself, didn't realize this before doing the food drive.
